Get to Know Jordan Zaner, DDS, FAGD, FICOI

Dr. Zaner strives to provide dental care that is tailored to your individual case. His philosophy as a dentist in Hanover centers around a relationship-based approach to oral health that is individualized to each patient’s unique needs and desires for their treatment. His goal is to develop important and lasting relationships with his patients over time that will allow for open communication, discussion, collaboration about the treatment plan, and the most comprehensive care possible.

He truly values the opportunity to get to know his patients, their families, and to learn and grow from their shared experiences. He is dedicated to providing innovative dental care to a diverse group of patients with a strong medical knowledge base, thoughtfulness, and humanism – and will do so with commitment, compassion, and professionalism.

Dr. Zaner was born and raised in Darnestown, Maryland, and currently resides in North Potomac with his wife, Katie, who is a local pediatrician, and his children, Jason and Emily. When not at the dental office, Dr. Zaner enjoys spending time with his family, working out, SCUBA diving, challenging his friends and family to board games, reading science fiction, learning about cosmology and the science of the universe, and rooting for the Maryland Terrapins – Go Terps!

Dental Education

Dr. Zaner completed undergraduate training at the University of Maryland, College Park with a focus in neurobiology and physiology. He received his DDS at the University of Maryland School of Dentistry, where he did additional clinical training in geriatrics and special patient care. He then completed a dental fellowship in oral medicine, oral pathology, and geriatric dentistry.

Since that time, Dr. Zaner has been in private practice in Maryland. He is dedicated to lifelong learning and professional development. He truly strives to keep up with the newest evidence-based dentistry. He has completed multiple post-graduate course continuums at the Pankey Institute and Pikos Institute, which are well-recognized dental and surgical training programs. Dr. Zaner is also an active member of the local chapter of the Pankey Learning Group, a study club dedicated to teaching the latest techniques in restorative, functional, and esthetic dentistry. Additionally, he was awarded a fellowship by the International Congress of Oral Implantology in 2018, and a fellowship from the Academy of General Dentistry in 2020.

With his background in treating medically complex and compromised patients, Dr. Zaner incorporates a comprehensive approach to dentistry that includes expertise in restorative and esthetic dentistry, placement and restoration of dental implants, advanced grafting techniques, treatment of TMD and pain disorders, full mouth rehabilitation, and smile designs.
